The Magic of Hand Printing on Silk
At the heart of the Maison, silk is treated with extraordinary care. Even today, the human touch is essential: every meter of silk is worked and printed by hand, a process passed down through generations. Printing is done with millimeter precision, thanks to silk screens expertly engraved by skilled artisans. To give silk its unique luster, each square undergoes an extra washing treatment. A gesture that goes beyond fabric production and becomes a ritual, giving life to a luminous and irresistibly delicate silk.
Silk Ties
From this precious fabric emerge E. Marinella's iconic men's ties. These ties, true works of art, are woven with the same artisanal mastery passed down through generations. From the single cut of the fabric to the finishing touches of the final product, complete with label and loop, each tie is distinguished by its lining made from the same patterned fabric. In addition to the classic 3-fold ties, the Maison has always been a pioneer in 5, 7, and 9-fold ties, where the silk square is folded 5, 7, or 9 times upon itself, giving the tie greater consistency. Completing the collections are Archive and Heritage lines that re-imagine the Maison's centuries-old prints in a modern key.
Other Silk Accessories
Alongside the iconic ties, the collection is completed by men's accessories in silk, including ascot ties, pocket squares, and glasses cases, crafted directly from silk squares. Unused parts of these squares then give shape to the entirely artisanal lucky charms, which recover the hand-printed silks of the Maison and are enriched with silver-plated finishes. From silk twill, the Maison also creates scarves characterized by a diagonal weave, created by the intertwining of warp and weft threads in a specific way, giving the fabric a brilliant and resistant texture.
The Enchantment of Picture Printing
The screen printing process remains fully handcrafted. After the preparation of colors, carefully weighed and calibrated, the artisans use as many printing screens as there are colors in the design to be printed. Each color application imparts extraordinary brilliance to the silk, giving rise to marvelous stories of color. The inspection of the print, the correct threading of the silk, and the cutting are all carried out by skilled artisans who ensure the precise execution of each step.
Silk Foulards
The exquisite silk squares give rise to the iconic women's silk scarves by E. Marinella. Each scarf is completely hand-hemmed. The printed silk is enriched with designs featuring enchanting depictions, ranging from floral motifs to superstitious symbols, which tell stories and create mythological and symbolic representations. Some scarves capture the essence of Naples, depicting monuments, stories, and legends of the city. Others reinterpret prints from the Archive and Heritage Collections, giving historical motifs of the Maison a modern twist.
Like the ties, E. Marinella's scarves result from a meticulous artisanal process, from the choice of designs to the final creation. Each scarf is a unique piece that combines tradition and innovation, telling a story of elegance and sophistication.
Other Silk Accessories
Twillys, scarves, and hair accessories complete the women's silk collection. Twillys, partly inspired by the Archive and Heritage collections, are made from check-printed silk squares, as well as hair elastics and twist bands, and can be elegantly worn in the hair, on the wrist, or, in the case of twillys, as a detail on bags. From silk twill, the collection features scarves with iridescent and vibrant colors suitable for formal looks. Also for women, the Maison produces entirely artisanal lucky charms that recover scraps from hand-printed silks of the Maison and are enriched with silver-plated finishes.
